The Two GTA 6 DualSense Designs
Sony revealed the controllers at a State of Play. One is mostly black with neon Vice City night colors; the other is mostly white with daytime beach tones. Both carry Grand Theft Auto VI artwork on the shell and touchpad.
Forbes reports that the black edition is a PlayStation Direct exclusive, while the white edition is also stocked by other major retailers. That makes the black pad the harder one to find.
- Designs: black (night) and white (day)
- Reported price: $84.99 each
- Pre-orders opened: September 10, 2026
- Ships: November 19, 2026
- Platform: PS5 only
Is It a DualSense Edge?
No. SlashGear notes that the GTA 6 controllers are standard DualSense pads under the shell. They have no back buttons, swappable stick caps or adjustable triggers like the DualSense Edge.
Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in GTA 6 work the same on any DualSense, so the limited editions are a cosmetic and collector choice, not a gameplay upgrade.
Do You Need It to Play GTA 6?
No. Any PS5 DualSense plays GTA 6, and on Xbox Series X|S any Xbox Wireless Controller works. No Xbox-branded GTA 6 controller has been announced.
Sony has also not announced an official GTA 6 PS5 console bundle. If you are buying hardware for launch, see our GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox pages.
Where to Buy and How to Avoid Fakes
Buy from PlayStation Direct or a major retailer. Resale listings above the launch price are common for limited editions, and some use copied artwork on ordinary controllers.
Check that the box shows Sony and Rockstar branding and that the seller is a known store. Pair it with your game order: see GTA 6 pre-order and GTA 6 price.
