Jason's Official Rockstar Bio
Rockstar's character profile sums him up in two lines: "Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder," and "Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him."
According to the bio, Jason was raised around grifters and crooks. He joined the Army to escape a troubled adolescence, but ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners anyway.
Where Jason Lives: The Leonida Keys
Jason lives in the Leonida Keys, an island chain in Leonida. Brian Heder, a veteran smuggler Rockstar calls "a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys," lets Jason live rent-free at one of his properties. In exchange, Jason helps with local shakedowns.
Brian runs a boat yard with his third wife, Lori. The Ultimate Edition adds safehouse vehicles for Jason, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak. See the map for the Keys and other regions.
Jason's Friends and Associates
Cal Hampton is Jason's friend and a fellow associate of Brian's. Rockstar describes him as someone who "feels safest hanging at home, snooping on Coast Guard comms with a few beers and some private browser tabs open."
Other characters in Rockstar's cast include Boobie Ike, "a local Vice City legend"; Dre'Quan Priest, "more of a hustler than a gangster"; the Real Dimez duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy; and bank robber Raul Bautista.
Jason in the Trailers and Gameplay
Trailer 2 opens with Lucia's release from prison, with Jason waiting for her. The Extended Look, which premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026, showed about 27 minutes of Jason in gameplay, including a trap-house job that turns into a fight and a getaway in a van.
Rockstar also released 29 screenshots on August 31, 2026, with 13 of Jason and Lucia together and four of Jason alone. All trailers are listed on our GTA 6 trailer page.
Jason and Lucia's Story
Rockstar's story summary says that "when an easy score goes wrong," Jason and Lucia end up "in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida." They must "rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."
His Ultimate Edition extras include an engraved Girardi ES9 pistol and the Ganado Retro Build for his Vapid Ganado. Read Lucia's profile and the Ultimate Edition list.
Jason's Personality
Rockstar's bio paints Jason as someone who wants a quieter life but keeps getting pulled back in. After the Extended Look, some fans found him reserved compared to Trailer 2.
Rockstar has not said more about his personality beyond the official bio.
Jason's Vehicles and Weapons
Jason drives a Vapid Ganado, which the Ultimate Edition can upgrade with the Ganado Retro Build. Ultimate also adds a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak at his safehouse.
