How to Pre-Order GTA 6
On PS5, open the PlayStation Store, search for Grand Theft Auto VI, choose the Standard or Ultimate Edition and complete the purchase. On Xbox Series X|S, open the Xbox Store, search for the game, pick an edition and select Pre-order.
You can also buy the physical edition from retailers. It contains a download code rather than a disc. Pre-ordered physical copies go on sale on November 12, so you can enter the code and pre-load.
- Pre-orders opened: June 25, 2026 at midnight local time
- Standard Edition: $79.99
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99
- Pre-load: from November 12, 2026
- Launch: November 19, 2026
Pre-Order Bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack
Every edition purchased before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar describes it as unique benefits "that flash back to when the neon burned brightest." The PlayStation Blog calls it "a collection of items inspired by Vice City's neon-soaked past."
It applies to both the Standard and Ultimate Editions and to both consoles. Rockstar has not published a detailed item list for the pack on its official site.
Free Month of GTA+ on PlayStation
Pre-ordering on the PlayStation Store adds one free month of GTA+. Buy the digital Standard or Ultimate Edition by November 19, 2026, and you will receive an email with redemption steps. Go to the GTA+ product page on the PlayStation Store to claim it.
The month must be claimed by March 31, 2027. It is one per account, cannot be transferred, and renews at the regular price unless you cancel in Subscription Management. Ultimate Edition upgrades are not eligible, and the offer is excluded in Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the Russian Federation.
Standard or Ultimate?
The Standard Edition is the complete game. The Ultimate Edition adds 16 named extras, including the '95 Grotti Cheetah, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, the Rideout Customs mod shop and over 50 tattoos designed by FAILE.
If you are unsure, start with Standard. Rockstar offers an upgrade path to the Ultimate content later. Compare both on our GTA 6 price and Ultimate Edition pages.
Pre-Loading: Be Ready on Launch Night
Rockstar says digital pre-loading starts on November 12, one week before release. Leave your console in rest mode with automatic downloads on, and check you have enough free storage. The final file size has not been officially confirmed.
The game unlocks at midnight local time on November 19, according to PlayStation Store listings, with New Zealand first. See the GTA 6 countdown for regional timing.
Pre-Order Mistakes to Avoid
Do not pre-order from sites selling PC or Steam copies; no PC version exists yet. Avoid unofficial key resellers, especially for a code-in-a-box edition that is easy to fake.
Do not confuse the $399.99 Collector's Edition with a game edition. It is merchandise only and needs a separate copy of GTA 6. Read the Collector's Edition page before ordering.
Pre-Ordering the Physical Edition
The physical edition of GTA 6 contains a download code, not a disc. Pre-ordered physical copies go on sale on November 12, 2026, so you can redeem the code and pre-load before launch.
This also means the PS5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S can use the physical edition, since no disc drive is needed. Some players dislike the code-in-a-box format, but it works the same as a digital purchase.
Can You Cancel a GTA 6 Pre-Order?
Cancellation rules depend on your store, not on Rockstar. The PlayStation Store and Xbox Store each have their own pre-order cancellation policies, and retailers set their own.
Check your store's policy before buying if you are unsure. Remember that cancelling and rebuying after November 19 means you lose the GTA+ offer on PlayStation.
Pre-Order vs Collector's Edition
Rockstar's Collector's Edition, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, opened for pre-order on September 24, 2026 on the Rockstar Store. It costs $399.99, is limited to one per person and ships on November 19.
It does not contain the game. If you want to play, you must also pre-order the Standard or Ultimate Edition.
