GTA 6 Price by Edition
There are two ways to buy the game itself. The Standard Edition is the full game: every mission, the whole story and all of Leonida. The Ultimate Edition adds an exclusive set of vehicles, weapons, apparel, shops and activities across Jason and Lucia's story.
Both editions get the Vintage Vice City Pack if you buy before November 20, 2026. Prices can vary by region and retailer, so check your local store.
- Standard Edition: $79.99 (AU$129.95)
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99 (AU$159.95)
- The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection (merchandise box, no game): $399.99
Why GTA 6 Costs $79.99
$79.99 is $10 more than the common $69.99 price for current-generation games. TechRadar pointed out that it is still below the $100 base price many fans had speculated about.
Pure Xbox reported that Rockstar described GTA 6 as a single-player experience at that price. There is no online mode at launch, so the $79.99 covers the story campaign and open world.
What the Extra $20 Gets You
Rockstar describes the Ultimate Edition as "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story." Named items include the '95 Grotti Cheetah, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers and engraved pistols for both protagonists.
It also unlocks businesses that are "only open for business with the Ultimate Edition," such as the Rideout Customs mod shop and Sara's Unisex Salon. See the complete list on our Ultimate Edition page.
Physical Copies Cost the Same but Have No Disc
The physical edition is a code in a box rather than a disc. VGC confirmed that physical copies have no disc at launch, and they go on sale on November 12, 2026. You still download the full game.
Retailers sometimes sell boxed codes slightly cheaper than the digital stores. Make sure any retailer is an authorized seller, since a code in a box is easy to counterfeit.
The $399.99 Collector's Edition
Rockstar's Collector's Edition, called The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, costs $399.99 on the Rockstar Store. It is a box of about 11 kg of merchandise, including a Macca the Gator figure and a Leonida map poster.
It does not include the game, either as a disc or a code. You still need the $79.99 or $99.99 edition. Details are on our Collector's Edition page.
Free Extras Included in the Price
Any purchase before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, items that "flash back to when the neon burned brightest." PlayStation Store buyers who purchase the digital Standard or Ultimate Edition by November 19 also get one free month of GTA+.
The GTA+ month must be claimed by March 31, 2027, and renews at the regular price unless you cancel. Our pre-order guide explains how to claim each bonus.
GTA 6 Price on PS5 vs Xbox
The price is the same on both consoles: $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. Pre-orders have been open on both since June 25, 2026.
There is no PC price, because no PC version has been announced. GTA 6 has also not been announced for Xbox Game Pass, so you need to buy it to play.
