Is GTA 6 on PC?
Not yet. The official Grand Theft Auto VI site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the only platforms. There is no Rockstar announcement, no PC pre-order and no Steam store page.
PCGamesN sums up the situation: GTA 6 is confirmed for current-generation consoles at launch, and PC has not been announced. GTA games usually reach PC later, so a PC version is widely expected eventually.
When Could GTA 6 Come to PC?
The most specific report comes from GamesBeat. In October 2026, it said GTA 6 will launch on PC in the first quarter of 2027, citing four anonymous sources. Rockstar and Take-Two have not commented.
A separate, earlier rumor based on former Rockstar staff pointed to a release before April 2027, the end of Take-Two's fiscal year. PCGamesN called that one something to take with "a huge heap of salt." Track any updates on our GTA 6 PC release date page.
- Official PC announcement: none
- Reported window: Q1 2027 (GamesBeat, unconfirmed)
- Steam store page: none
- PC pre-orders: not available
Why Rockstar Launches on Console First
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told Bloomberg that Rockstar "always starts on console because I think that you're judged by serving the core." He has also said the PC is "becoming more and more important" to Take-Two over time.
History backs up the console-first approach. GTA 5 arrived on PC about 19 months after its console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 took about a year. A Q1 2027 PC release would break that pattern with a much shorter wait.
PC System Requirements
Rockstar has not published PC system requirements, because no PC version has been announced. Any minimum or recommended specs you see online are guesses.
The only official technical details so far are for consoles, such as PS5 Pro Enhanced support and DualSense features. We will add PC requirements only when Rockstar publishes them.
Avoid Fake GTA 6 PC Downloads
Because the PC version does not exist publicly, any site offering a "GTA 6 PC download," a crack or a Steam key is not offering the real game. Fan-made Steam page mock-ups have also circulated, and they are not Rockstar listings.
An official PC release would be announced on rockstargames.com and Rockstar's social channels, with a proper store page. Until then, the safest move is to wait.
Options for PC Players Right Now
If you want to play on November 19, you need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S. Both versions cost $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Console purchases do not transfer to a future PC version.
Multiplayer is not part of the launch, and reports link a later GTA 6 Online launch with 2027, which may line up with PC. See GTA 6 Online, Steam, PS5 and Xbox for the details.
GTA 6 PC vs Console Timeline
Rockstar's past releases give context. GTA 5 launched on consoles in 2013 and reached PC about 19 months later. Red Dead Redemption 2 took about a year to come to PC.
If the GamesBeat Q1 2027 report is right, GTA 6 would arrive on PC within a few months of the November 19, 2026 console launch. That would be the shortest gap in recent Rockstar history.
Where a PC Version Would Be Announced
A PC version would be announced through Rockstar's official channels: rockstargames.com/VI, the Rockstar newswire, and its YouTube and X accounts. Store pages would follow, naming Rockstar Games as developer and publisher.
PCGamesN notes that the Extended Look did not reveal any new platform information. For now, the official site still lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What PC Players Miss at Launch
Console players get the full single-player game on November 19, along with launch bonuses like the Vintage Vice City Pack for purchases before November 20. PlayStation buyers also get a month of GTA+.
Rockstar has not said whether these launch bonuses will apply to a later PC version. Check our pre-order guide for the console offers.

What Take-Two Means by 'Core'
Zelnick's comment that Rockstar is "judged by serving the core" refers to console players, who have been the main audience for GTA launches. At the same time, he has said PC is becoming more important to Take-Two.
Those two ideas fit a staggered plan: consoles first, PC later. When "later" means is the open question. Our GTA 6 PC release date page tracks it.
