PS5 and Xbox Do Not Use the Same Clock
PS5 starts at midnight in each local time zone. Xbox Series X|S starts simultaneously worldwide at 00:00 GMT on November 10. The Xbox dates below are our time-zone conversions, not separate regional release announcements.

How Much Storage Should You Clear?
Rockstar lists up to 212 GB depending on the device. PlayStation's preparation guide asks PS5 owners to clear at least 212 GB. This is a storage requirement, not a promise that every console downloads exactly the same number of bytes.
Before deleting anything, review your console's storage screen and choose games you can reinstall later. Allow time for the download to finish; connection speed and any later updates affect when your installation is ready.
Prepare Your PS5 Download
Sign in to the account that owns your digital pre-order, locate Grand Theft Auto VI in your library and check its download settings. PlayStation recommends preparing your account and order before the download window opens.
- Confirm the purchase appears in your library.
- Enable automatic downloads.
- Keep the PS5 on or in Rest Mode with internet access enabled.
- After the window opens, check download progress on the console.
Prepare Your Xbox Download
Use the Xbox account associated with your order and check that the game appears in your library. Rockstar's support page says automatic updates must be enabled and the console should be on or in Sleep mode. If installation fails, use the Xbox troubleshooting link provided by Rockstar Support.
Why Boxed Buyers Still See November 12
The revised digital schedule does not move boxed-code availability forward. Rockstar says code-in-box versions should reach retailers from November 12. You need your code before you can redeem that purchase; owning an empty box or a retailer receipt does not start the download.
